Pune : Free Helpline to Ease Exam Stress: Support for Class 10th and 12th Students and Parents
In a bid to alleviate the mounting pressure faced by students and parents during exam seasons, the Pune Divisional Office of the Maharashtra State Board Of Secondary and Higher Education has introduced a complimentary helpline service. The service targets students of class 10th and 12th along with their parents, offering guidance and counseling support.
The alternative helpline numbers, 9423042627 and 7038752972, have been established to cater to the needs of students and parents seeking assistance amid the academic challenges. This proactive measure aims to mitigate the escalating concerns surrounding exam stress and performance anxiety among students.
Ten counselors have been enlisted to provide support, with their contact details readily available to students across the Pune division, encompassing Pune, Ahmednagar, and Solapur. The helpline service operates daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, remaining accessible until the conclusion of the examinations.
Audumbar Ukirade highlighted the necessity of such initiatives, stating, “Sometimes, despite adequate preparation, students find themselves overwhelmed during examinations, leading to extreme measures like suicide. The pervasive pressure from teachers and parents, fueled by intense competition, exacerbates the situation. Hence, we initiated these helplines to furnish students and parents with essential mental and emotional assistance.”
The helpline witnesses a surge in calls, particularly before and after challenging examinations, indicating the critical need for such support mechanisms.
