Pune Municipal Corporation's 40% Rebate Initiative| Tap to know more
Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has introduced a beneficial initiative for its residents regarding property tax rebates. As per this scheme, residents who utilize their properties for personal use are eligible for a 40% rebate on their property tax.
as per the GIS survey, from April 1, 2018 the 40 percent rebate initiative was stopped for over 96,122 property holders. ALso, the newly constructed 1,98,296 properties have been issued bills without 40 percent rebate from April 1, 2019. Of 34 merged villages 1,68,771 properties are still outside the ambit of rebate. A total of 4,63,189 properties are without 40 percent rebate.
Despite objections from citizens, social organizations, and elected representatives, the Maharashtra government sanctioned the continuation of the 40% rebate policy under Government Resolution PMC-3018/Pr. No. 593/Nov-22, dated April 21, 2023.
To avail themselves of the current rebate benefits, property owners were required to submit PT-3 applications by November 15, 2023, followed by an extension until November 30, 2023. However, out of 4,63,189 eligible properties, only 90,749 property owners filled out the PT-3 form, leaving 3,72,440 property owners who did not submit the form.
Starting June 18, 2024, PMC officials will conduct direct inspections of properties that did not receive the 40% rebate since April 1, 2018, or were newly constructed without qualifying for the rebate since April 1, 2019. Property owners must submit PT-3 applications during the current assessment, which extends until August 15, 2024. During this period, concerned property owners are advised to compile necessary documentation and submit it to PMC’s Citizen Facilitation Center.
Therefore , PMC urges all eligible property owners to act promptly to benefit from the ongoing rebate scheme, ensuring compliance with the specified deadlines and procedures.
