Pimpri: Regarding the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate, various pending issues such as the construction of the Commissionerate, headquarters, housing colony, and Dapodi police station, as well as space for the Chikhali police station, have been consistently followed up by MLA Mahesh Landge with the State Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis during the monsoon session.

In this regard, MLA Landge has presented a detailed statement to Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis on the pending issues of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate. There is an expectation that positive decisions will be made in the ongoing session.

In the statement given by MLA Landge, it is mentioned that the independent Police Commissionerate for Pimpri-Chinchwad city was established in 2018. The then Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis took a positive stance for this. We have been pursuing this with the government since 2014, and it has been successful. It has been five years since the Commissionerate started functioning, but a permanent building for the Commissionerate and headquarters is still not available.

During the tenure of the Bharatiya Janata Party since 2017, the basic amenities in the included villages have been strengthened, leading to the development of the ‘Chikhali-Moshi-Charholi Residential Corridor’. The population in this area has significantly increased. For the law and order of the city, establishing a Police Commissionerate in the central location of Chikhali-Moshi will be convenient for both the Pimpri-Chinchwad residents and the administration.

Meanwhile, the proposal to transfer 3.39 hectares of land from group number 539 in Chikhali for the administrative building of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate is pending approval with the state’s Urban Development Department. Additionally, the proposal to divide the Bhosari police station to create and staff the Dapodi police station is awaiting approval.

Furthermore, the state government has designated a place for building the police headquarters, but no action has been initiated on it yet. The ‘PMRDA’ had requested 9 Gunthas of land in Purnanagar for the Chikhali police station. The proposal to waive the fee for this plot is pending. MLA Landge has requested immediate action from the Home Ministry and the concerned department regarding this.

The population of Pimpri-Chinchwad city is around 3 million. Some police stations in the city are also set to be divided. If the police parade ground and other administrative functions are centralized in one location, it will streamline the administrative work of the Police Commissionerate. Therefore, the issue of the police commissionerate’s location should be resolved by confirming a central place in Chikhali-Moshi. The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation and the Pune District Collector’s administration should be directed to take action in this regard. A positive decision is expected on this.
