Pune News: Hour-long rain leads to waterlogging in Wadachiwadi & Undri, exposing PMC’s monsoon preparedness
The Wadachiwadi suburb near Pune City submerged after an hour of rain on June 3, 2024. There were a lot of cars stuck in this water and hence passengers had to suffer.
Before the monsoon arrived in Pune, on Monday a few parts of the city witnessed rainfall. The residents were terrified as a result of the unexpected downpour. The Wadachiwadi suburb near Pune City was submerged in water after an hour of rain on June 3, 2024. There were a lot of cars stuck in this water and hence passengers had to suffer.
Heavy rain began to fall on Monday at about 3 pm in the Wadachiwadi region. As a result, heavy water logging was witnessed in the area. It is expected that this road may be blocked this year as well during the monsoon. In Wadachiwadi village water accumulated up to a foot. Vehicles were seen driving slowly.
Following the rains, the municipality is urged to take measures, as Undri faces significant issues with development and basic amenities availability, despite being incorporated into the PMC way back in 2018.
