Construction of the new administrative building is underway on the reserved plot no. 181-D of the Municipal Corporation in Chinchwad. The plot area is 8.65 acres (37,232.25 sq.m.), with a total construction area of 91,459 sq.m. (approximately 1 million sq. ft.).

The new administrative building will consist of the following four wings:

– Wing A: 3 basements + ground floor + 6 floors
– Wing B: 3 basements + ground floor + 18 floors
– Wing C: 3 basements + ground floor + 18 floors
– Wing D: 3 basements + ground floor + 6 floors

The building will also include a general assembly hall, a well-equipped library, exhibition hall, multi-purpose hall, clinic for health check-ups of citizens and employees, ATM center, e-governance and citizen service center, security office, courtyard, restrooms, reception and information desk, canteen, and a press room for journalists.

The building is designed to be eco-friendly, incorporating features such as water harvesting, solar energy usage, water recycling, climate-responsive fins, natural ventilation, green areas, skylight, and parking for approximately 5,000 vehicles. The building height is 83 meters. Once completed, citizens will have access to all municipal offices in one place, improving the efficiency of municipal operations.

The work order was issued in January 2023, with a completion period of 36 months. The approved tender amount is Rs. 286.63 crore. The contractor is KMV Projects, and the project consultants are Sunil Patil Associates Pvt. Ltd.

“Currently, 20% of the work has been completed, with all excavation and foundation work done. The slab work for the lowest basement is progressing well. Column work above the slab will be possible during the monsoon season. The project is planned to be completed within the stipulated timeframe.”
