Pune: NIBM Annexe Forum calls for installation of gates at reserved forest area near Heaven Park

The NIBM Forum, a community organization dedicated to improving local neighbourhoods through public participation, has initiated a campaign for the installation of an entrance gate at the 100-acre Nandanvan Forest Reserve in Wanawadi. The forum is urging citizens to contribute to the cause and calling on the forest department to promptly provide permission and funds for this essential project.

The Nandanvan Forest, located near Heavens Park in Wanawadi, has been facing significant environmental issues, primarily due to the daily large-scale dumping of food and plastic waste outside its main entrance. This not only threatens the forest’s ecosystem but also diminishes its appeal as a green space for the community.

The NIBM Forum’s initiative aims to unite the community in addressing these challenges. By installing an entrance gate, the forum hopes to prevent unauthorized dumping and protect the forest’s natural habitat.

Urgent Call For PMC’s attention To Keep Forest Surrounding Clean

The forum has requested the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to take immediate action against the waste dumping and has also appealed to the public to support this conservation effort.

In addition to community contributions, the NIBM Forum is seeking the forest department’s cooperation in granting the necessary permissions and allocating funds for the gate installation.
