Pune: PMC urged to take preventive measures during Palkhi procession amid Zika virus cases
Saint Tukaram Maharaj and Saint Dnyaneshwar Maharaj’s Palakhi festival is scheduled from June 28 to July 2 across Pune, with a large influx of devotees expected. Given the current rainy weather, cases of Zika virus have been reported in parts of Pune. To prevent the spread of Zika, Pune Municipal Corporation urges citizens to be vigilant. They requested administering insect repellents, raising awareness among citizens, and maintaining health precautions.
