Pune: Police Officers Suspended After Viral Video Exposes Drug Use At L3 Lounge
Two police officers from Shivajinagar Police Station, Police Inspector (Crime) Anil Mane and Assistant Police Inspector Dinesh Patil, have been suspended following the emergence of a viral video showing drug use and underage drinking at L3 – Liquid Leisure Lounge. The suspension orders were issued by Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar.
The incident, which took place at the L3 – Liquid Leisure Lounge in the Deccan area, came to light after a video surfaced on social media revealing ongoing alcohol parties and drug consumption until the early morning hours. The footage highlighted the negligence of both the police and the State Excise Department in curbing these activities.
According to reports, the party at the lounge continued until 5 a.m. on Saturday, during which some youths were seen using drugs in the restroom. The viral video also exposed that many underage individuals were served alcohol at the venue. As a result, five people have been detained, and two police personnel have been suspended.
The swift action against the officers underscores the seriousness of the issue and the need for stricter enforcement of laws to prevent such incidents in the future.
