Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) has ordered the minor 17-year-old boy, involved in a fatal accident in Kalyani Nagar, Pune, to be kept in an observation home for 14 days.  The JJB took the decision after deliberating for two days after the Pune Police filed a revision application against bail to the minor.

The accident occurred around 2:30 am on Sunday, May 19th. The boy, allegedly under the influence of alcohol after visiting pubs in Koregaon Park, was driving the car when the accident happened. Tragically, two IT professionals lost their lives in the incident.

Investigations revealed that the minor not only consumed alcohol but also drove without a license. The police have arrested his father for allowing this and the owners of two clubs for serving liquor to a minor.

Significant debate surrounded the case, with many advocating for stricter action. The JJB’s decision reflects a period of observation and potential rehabilitation for the minor.
