Meanwhile, Ajay Taware, the head of Sassoon’s forensic medicine department, and Dr. Srihari Halnor, the chief medical officer of the emergency department, have both been arrested in connection with the same incident.

Shivani Agarwal, who is being held by the police in connection with the exchange of blood samples, informed the court on Wednesday that the unhygienic conditions in the custody room are causing her to suffer. Shivani has been kept in Faraskhana police station premises after being remanded in police custody.

“The space is unsanitary,” Shivani told the judge that the unhygienic circumstances were causing her to suffer. Her complaint was acknowledged by the court. 

Ajay Taware, Head of Sassoon’s Forensic Medicine Department and Dr Srihari Halnor, Chief Medical Officer of the Emergency Department, have both been arrested in connection with the same incident. As a result, both of them received a show cause notice from the Maharashtra Medical Council in Mumbai, asking them to provide their statements within a week.

In his petition on behalf of Halnor, Dr Advocate Rishikesh Ganu informed the court that Dr. Halnor requires some paperwork, which is in the BJ Medical room, to respond to them. This room is sealed. and the police also have hold of the mobile phones. He emphasized on receiving the necessary documents. The court was informed by the investigating officer, Assistant Commissioner of Police Sunil Tambe, that the Sassoon administration, not the police, had sealed BJ Medical Dr Halnor’s room.
