In the purview of tattered buses with PMPML logos being found parked at a defunct bus depot at Aundh, an extensive discussion took place with CMD Sanjay Kolte and other senior officials of the PMPML Pune.

MLA Siddharth Shirole, who organised the meeting, stated, “The main agenda was to address the issues with the defunct Aundh bus depot, which currently has up to 70 buses lying idle amidst garbage and rubble.”

The issue was raised by Pune based RTI Activist and senior Journalist Vinita Deshmukh on her X handle.

It was confirmed in the meeting that the buses bearing the #PMPML logos are not owned by PMPML; rather, they are the property of a bankrupt contractor of PMPML. After buses, debris and trash are removed from the site, a brand-new, well-kept bus depot and parking structure will be built.

Siddharth Shirole took to social media platform ‘X’ to share the highlights of the meeting, it read as follows, Held an extensive review meeting with CMD Sanjay Kolteji and other senior officials of

@PMPMLPune. The main agenda was to address the issues with the defunct Aundh bus depot, which currently has up to 70 buses lying idle amidst garbage and rubble.

These buses, branded with #PMPML logos, actually belong to a bankrupt contractor for PMPML, not PMPML itself. The lenders and now owners’ agents of these buses have assured us that they will promptly clear the buses from the plot.

Once the area is cleared of buses, rubble, and garbage, a new, well-maintained bus depot and parking facility will be established.”

The post has garnered a lot of attention from Pune Citizens with a lot of them anticipating the start of the new depot and awaiting more buses to begin running too. “Hopefully it starts soon and provides some direct buses to Hinjewadi and kharadi,” wrote one user.

Meanwhile, another raised his concern saying, “Sir, some people are continuously posting reels about

@PMPMLPune

 buses breaking down on Pune roads and harassing poor drivers and govt.

Kindly look into this matter and increase the maintenance of these buses.”

The issue of the abandoned buses came into limelight after senior journalist Vinita Deshmukh highlighted it in a post she made on X.
