Following recent complaints about auto rickshaw and Coolcab drivers in Pune city, the Regional Transport Office (RTO) Pune has introduced a WhatsApp-based complaint facility. Passengers have reported issues such as refusal to ply, not charging as per meter, and rude behavior.

Additionally, private bus owners or agents charging more than 1.5 times the maximum fare set by the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) can also be reported through this facility.

Regulatory Action:
  • Archana Gaikwad, Regional Transport Officer, Pune, has assured that strict action will be taken against vehicles found violating the rules as per the Central Motor Vehicle Act, 1988, and Maharashtra Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989.

This initiative aims to ensure fair practices and passenger safety in Pune’s public transport system.
