A Zika virus patient has been detected in Hadapsar, Pune. The health department is closely monitoring those who came into contact with the infected person, and the Pune Corporation health department has been alerted due to the increasing number of Zika virus cases in the city.

Blood samples from this person were tested and the preliminary test report revealed that the person was infected with the Zika virus, bringing the total number of Zika virus patients to three. Two more patients were discovered in the Erandwane area on Wednesday.

A doctor and his 15-year-old daughter in Pune were infected with the Zika virus, causing mild fever and red rash. The doctor sent blood samples to the National Institute of Virology for testing, which revealed the virus. Both are undergoing treatment. Other people in contact with the doctor have not shown symptoms but are being closely monitored by the health department.

Meanwhile, considering the increasing number of Zika virus patients in Pune, the tension of the health department of Pune Municipal Corporation has increased. The virus, transmitted by mosquitoes, causes headaches, muscle stiffness, sore muscles, sore gums, and fine rashes on the body. Preventive measures have been initiated in various areas.
