Pune, June 26 : Swara-Malhar, a special music festival to celebrate the much-loved monsoon season is all set to start from June 28th. In its 9th edition, the festival will feature veterans as well as young artists from the world of classical music. It is a Swara Zankar initiative and is organized by the Pune-based Violin Academy.

The festival will be held on 3 different days and at 3 different venues. The festival will start on June 28th at MES Auditorium at BSM School, Mayur Colony at 5:00pm. The first session of the inaugural day will have a special program titled ‘Malhar Ke Rang’ which will feature 5 vocalists including Rashmi Moghe, Suranjan Khandalkar, Shruti Deshpande, Shubham Khandalkar, and Sai Panchal. The second session on the inaugural day will have the performance of Purbayan Chatterjee (Sitar). He will be accompanied by Padmashree Pt Vijay Ghate (Tabla).

The second day of Swara Malhar will be held on July 7th at Ganesh Kala Krida Manch, Swargate at 5:00pm. It will have performances of Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan (Sitar), Atulkumar Upadhye (Violin), Rahul Deshpande (Classical Vocal), Nikita Banawalikar (Kathak) and Nisarg Patil (Classical Vocal).

The concluding day of Swara Malhar will be July 13 and the venue for this day would be Tilak Smarak Mandir on Tilak Road. The performances will start at 9:00 pm and will have artists like Pt Sanjeev Abhayankar (Classical Vocal), Samyukta Amarnath (Vocal), and Vidya Desai (Vocal).

This 9th edition of Swara Malhar is supported by Oerlikon Balzers, Vilas Javdekar Developers, Suhana, PNG Jewellers, The Nature, Lokmanya Multipurpose Cooperative Society, and Wilo.

First two days of the Swara Malhar music festival would be ticketed and tickets are available on bookmyshow. Whereas, entry to the final day event would be free on a first come first serve basis.
