In light of the hazardous condition of the Sadhu Vaswani bridge, the Pune Municipal Corporation has decided to demolish and reconstruct it. Consequently, the Pune Traffic Police have announced modifications to vehicular traffic in the Bund Garden and Koregaon Park areas to manage the expected congestion during the bridge’s reconstruction. These changes are effective from May 25, 2024, until further notice.
Key traffic changes are as follows:
– The road between Circuit House Chowk and Blue Diamond Hotel Chowk will be closed to traffic in both directions.
– The stretch from Mahatma Gandhi Udyan Chowk to Blue Diamond Chowk to Moboz Chowk will become a one-way route.
**Alternate Route:** From Blue Diamond Hotel Chowk, proceed to Mor Odha Chowk, turn towards Mangaldas Road, head to Moboz Chowk, from Mangaldas Chowk turn left to IB Chowk, turn left to Circuit House, then turn right to Mor Odha Chowk to reach the desired destination.
– The road from Moboz Chowk to Mahatma Gandhi Udyan Chowk (Bund Garden Road) will be one-way.
**Alternate Route:** Vehicles heading from Moboz Chowk to Koregaon Park should go straight to Shriman Chowk, then turn right at Mahatma Gandhi Udyan Chowk to Koregaon Park via Koregaon Park Junction.
– Entry from Shriman Chowk to Koregaon Park Junction via Mehta Road will be closed.
**Alternate Route:** From Shriman Chowk, take a right turn at Mahatma Gandhi Udyan Chowk towards Koregaon Park.
– One-way traffic will be enforced from I V Chowk to Circuit House Chowk to Mor Odha during emergencies.
– Traffic from Blue Diamond Chowk to South Main Road, Koregaon Park will remain unaffected.
Motorists are advised to follow these changes to ensure smooth traffic flow and avoid congestion in the affected areas.
