For the past three years, the residents of  societies located at NIBM annexe, Mohammadwadi have been facing significant challenges caused by poor hygiene, inadequate drainage, and unresolved civic problems that have been persistent. However, one of the residents of Archana Paradise Phase 1 in NIBM Annexe, Mohammadwadi – Nitin D’Souza, has taken the lead in working with civic authorities to address these issues.

Nitin has received overwhelming support from 31 societies around the NIBM Annex, comprising members from various sectors such as business, IT, PTO, and development. Together, they are tackling the challenges head-on. “Even those who were once unco-operative are now responding positively to our initiatives,” Nitin said.

The coalition, which includes Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) workers, is making significant strides despite the challenges of limited manpower. As an HR consultant, Nitin emphasizes the importance of impactful decisions that benefit the environment. Current initiatives focus on improving drainage, planting trees, enhancing hygiene, installing street lamps, requesting police intervention using patrolling as a preliminary measure to control unwanted incidents and comprehensive development.

“Cleaning work of the nala will begin tomorrow,” Nitin announced. He also thanked the residents of Archana Paradise Phase 1 for their support in these efforts. Additionally, the installation of electric poles has begun, marking the first stage of development. “This is the first stage of development,” Nitin noted.

A new lock has been installed for the ground, with keys distributed among three societies: Kingston Atlantis, Archana Paradise Phase I, and Archana Paradise Phase II. Residents are encouraged to use the ground for walking and playing.

“Basic needs like street lights in shady areas and police patrolling are essential for the safety of citizens,” said Anthony Menezes, a resident of the area, an IT professional who too is involved in making the neighbourhood better.

The community remains optimistic about the positive changes being brought about through these collaborative efforts. The results has motivated the residents to work
