Pune: Unsafe Pipeline Construction Near Vibgyor School In Balewadi Raises Concerns

Residents near Vibgyor School at Balewadi Highstreet have voiced serious concerns over ongoing pipeline construction, which they say has now become a hazard for the many students passing through the area daily.

A Baner resident, highlighted the dangers posed by the prolonged construction work near the school. She expressed frustration over the lack of progress despite the work continuing for the past 2-3 months. “We have repeatedly complained to the authorities, but no action has been taken,” she lamented. Deshmukh further noted that the construction has severely constricted the road, allowing only one car to pass at a time, causing inconvenience to commuters.

Responding to the residents’ concerns, Aniruddha Pawaskar, Chief Engineer (Road), assured that he would address the issue promptly. “I will look into the issue immediately and get it fixed,” he stated.

The construction work, which initially aimed to improve infrastructure, has inadvertently created a hazardous situation for school children and commuters alike. Despite assurances from authorities, locals remain apprehensive about the lack of visible progress and the ongoing safety risks posed by the site.

Parents and residents hope that swift action will be taken to remedy the situation before any untoward incidents occur. 

They emphasize the need for immediate measures to ensure the safety of all pedestrians and motorists navigating through the affected area.
