Pune – Jewelry was stolen from two women in the Bibwewadi area on Sunday after a cunning robbery involving sedative-laced tea. The accused woman lured her victims with a fake job proposal before drugging them and stealing their valuables.
The incident came to light when one of the victims filed a complaint at the Bibwewadi police station. The complainant, who lives in a society in the Papal Vasti area of Bibwewadi, recounted that on June 12, she was approached by the suspect while leaving the Bharat Jyoti Society around 12:30 PM. The woman on a two-wheeler convinced the victim to come to her home with the promise of a job opportunity. Once there, the victim was offered tea mixed with sedatives, rendering her unconscious. The thief then stole her jewelry and mobile phone.
Further investigation revealed a similar incident involving another woman in Bibwewadi, indicating a pattern in the robber’s modus operandi. The Bibwewadi police have registered a case and are actively pursuing the investigation to apprehend the culprit.
