In January 2024, there were many new smartphones released, including the Realme 12 Pro 5G series. This series has two models: the Realme 12 Pro 5G and the Realme 12 Pro+ 5G. Though they resemble the previous Realme 11 Pro from the front, there are changes inside and on the back. Realme 12 Pro 5G for over a week to test it out. Here’s what I think about it.

The starting price of the Realme 12 Pro in India is Rs. 25,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB version. There’s also an 8GB RAM + 256GB version for Rs. 26,999. It comes in two colors: Navigator Beige and Submarine Blue. I received the 256GB Submarine Blue variant for review, which comes with a 67W fast charger in the box.

The Realme 12 Pro 5G unboxing experience is similar to other phones in its price range. It includes a 67W charging brick, a USB Type-A to Type-C cable, a protective case, a SIM ejector tool, and paperwork.

Design-wise, the Realme 12 Pro stands out with its unique look. The Submarine Blue variant I received looks fantastic with its vegan leather finish and a camera module resembling a luxury watch dial. The phone feels good in hand and has a curved display and rear panel, making it appear slimmer. It also comes with an IP65 rating for water and dust resistance.

In terms of specifications, the Realme 12 Pro features a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor, 8GB RAM, and 256GB storage. It has a USB Type-C port, dual 5G SIM support, and various connectivity options. The in-display fingerprint scanner works well, and the phone runs on Realme UI 5.0 based on Android 14, with promised software updates.

Performance-wise, the Realme 12 Pro handles daily tasks and gaming decently, although benchmark results may not be as impressive as some competitors. It features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a high refresh rate and good brightness. The dual-speaker setup provides loud and decent audio quality.

The phone’s 5,000mAh battery lasts a day with heavy usage and charges quickly with the included 67W charger. The camera setup includes a primary 50-megapixel sensor, a 32-megapixel telephoto sensor, and an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor, offering improved photography capabilities compared to its predecessor. Overall, the Realme 12 Pro delivers a stylish design, decent performance, and good camera features at its price point.
