Reliance Jio has unveiled new unlimited 5G data plans starting from July 3, 2024. Known for the fastest 5G rollout globally, Jio leads India’s 5G market.
Reliance Jio has recently unveiled a substantial update to its prepaid and postpaid plans, implementing a uniform 12% price hike across all offerings. These revised tariffs will come into effect starting July 3, 2024. Alongside the price adjustment, the telecom giant has introduced new unlimited 5G data plans, a significant enhancement designed to improve overall user satisfaction and connectivity.
Prepaid Plans: New Pricing and Benefits
- Rs 189 Plan: Previously Rs 155, now offers unlimited voice calls, 2GB data, and SMS benefits for 28 days.
- Rs 249 Plan: Increased from Rs 209, includes 1GB data per day, unlimited calls, and SMS benefits for 28 days.
- Rs 299 Plan: Up from Rs 239, provides 1.5GB data per day, unlimited calls, and SMS benefits for 28 days.
- Rs 349 Plan: Previously Rs 299, offers 2GB data per day, unlimited calls, and SMS benefits for 28 days.
- Rs 399 Plan: Raised from Rs 349, includes 2.5GB data per day, unlimited calls, and SMS benefits for 28 days.
- Rs 449 Plan: Previously Rs 399, now offers 3GB data per day, unlimited calls, and SMS benefits for 28 days.
2-Month Plans
- Rs 579 Plan: Increased from Rs 479, offers 1.5GB data per day, unlimited calls, and SMS benefits for 56 days.
- Rs 629 Plan: Up from Rs 533, includes 2GB data per day, unlimited calls, and SMS benefits for 56 days.
3-Month Plans
- Rs 479 Plan: Previously Rs 395, offers 6GB data, unlimited calls, and SMS benefits for 84 days.
- Rs 799 Plan: Raised from Rs 666, includes 1.5GB data per day, unlimited calls, and SMS benefits for 84 days.
- Rs 859 Plan: Up from Rs 719, offers 2GB data per day, unlimited calls, and SMS benefits for 84 days.
- Rs 1199 Plan: Previously Rs 999, includes 3GB data per day, unlimited calls, and SMS benefits for 84 days.
Annual Plans
- Rs 1899 Plan: Increased from Rs 1559, provides 24GB data, unlimited calls, and SMS benefits for 336 days.
- Rs 3599 Plan: Up from Rs 2999, offers 2.5GB data per day, unlimited calls, and SMS benefits for 365 days.
Data Add-On Plans
- Rs 19 Plan: Previously Rs 15, offers 1GB additional data.
- Rs 29 Plan: Up from Rs 25, includes 2GB additional data.
- Rs 69 Plan: Increased from Rs 61, offers 6GB additional data.
Postpaid Plans
- Rs 349 Plan: Previously Rs 299, offers 30GB data per billing cycle.
- Rs 449 Plan: Up from Rs 399, includes 75GB data per billing cycle.
Key Details About Jio’s New Plans
From early July, Jio will offer unlimited 5G data on plans with 2GB per day and above. However, users of JioBharat and JioPhone will keep their current data plans without any price changes. “This move will further enable industry innovation and drive sustainable growth through investments in 5G and AI technology. Ubiquitous, high-quality, affordable internet is the backbone of Digital India and Jio takes pride in contributing to this. Jio will always put our country and customers first and will continue to invest in India,” said Akash M Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio.
No Changes for JioPhone and JioBharat Tariffs
Jio operates a standalone True 5G network in India, claiming about 85% of the country’s 5G cells. The company recognizes the 250 million feature phone users limited to 2G networks and offers JioPhone and JioBharat devices for faster 4G networks.
New AI-Powered Services for Free
Alongside the new 5G plans, Jio introduced free AI-powered features. JioTranslate, a translation service, and JioSafe, a Quantum-secure app for calls, messaging, and file transfers, will be free for a year. After the first year, JioSafe will cost Rs 199 per month, and JioTranslate will cost Rs 99 per month.
