Following the release of the 12th class results, colleges in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad are now accepting applications online for a variety of degree programmes. By the end of May, the first merit list is probably going to be revealed. Reputable institutions will use a cut-off score of 90% for admission to first-year degree programmes. Nevertheless, students with less than 75% in their 12th class are likely to be accepted into reputable universities’ degree programmes but they have to wait.

After the declaration of results of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE), the admission process have commenced for the first year of bachelors degree courses to various universities.

It is a known truth that students’ percentage of marks must be higher to get a spot on the first or second list of the city’s best universities. However, many students with strong grades enrol in the professional courses after the State Common Entrance Examination Board announces the admissions process for the numerous professional degree programmes offered by the higher and technical education departments.

As a result, numerous spots at reputable universities, particularly in the Science stream, become available again. In these open seats, students with relatively low percentages of marks may be admitted. However, the college principals have stated that in such cases, the pupils would need to wait for a while.

The degree cut-off for the first round of Pune’s best institutions will be 90%+. After the second or third round, the scientific stream cut-off falls, while the arts stream cut-off remains over 90%. After the third round, admission is more likely for those with lower grades. As more state and foreign students are travelling to Pune for degree programmes, there is more competition.
