Sudha Murty opened up about what gender quality means to her during a video interview, adding men and women are wired differently.

Sudha Murty, an esteemed author and the former chairperson of the Infosys Foundation, is married to NR Narayana Murthy, co-founder of Infosys. They have two children: Akshata Murty, a businesswoman married to UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, and Rohan Murthy, who co-founded a tech firm specializing in AI-powered technology. Recently, Sudha Murty was nominated to the Upper House of Parliament and took her oath as a member of the Rajya Sabha a few months ago in the chamber of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar.

Rajya Sabha MP Sudha Murty, renowned for her philanthropic efforts, shared a video discussing her perspective on gender equality. In the video, she compares men and women to “two wheels of a bicycle.” Murty elaborates, “In my view, men and women are equal but in different ways. They complement each other like two wheels of a bicycle; you can’t move forward without the other.”

The video begins with Sudha Murty asking, “What is equality? You should define it first.” She goes on to say, “You know both genders are different.” In the remainder of the video, she further explains her viewpoint.
