Tamhini Wildlife Sanctuary, known for its scenic beauty and waterfalls, typically attracts numerous tourists during the monsoon. However, the unpredictable water flow and slippery paths pose significant risks, particularly in areas like Milky Bar in Plus Valley. As a precautionary measure, all nature trails leading to Plus Valley have been closed for tourism from June 28, 2024, to September 30, 2024.

Tushar Chavan, the Conservator of Forests (Wildlife), announced that this decision aims to ensure public safety and prevent accidents in the slippery conditions of Plus Valley during the rainy season. The ban will be in effect until September 30, 2024.

The Wildlife Department has urged all tourists to cooperate with the authorities by strictly adhering to these regulations during the monsoon season. Illegal entry into the sanctuary is strictly prohibited, and action will be taken under the Wildlife Protection Act against those who violate these rules.
