The ‘electronic interlocking’ work will be done in the yard of Daund railway station in the Pune division which will begin next month. For this, a seven-day power block will be needed and hence trains to and coming from Mumbai in South India will be cancelled. This includes the Pune-Solapur intercity as well.

The commencement of construction on the ‘Main Line’ at the Daund station yard towards Pune has not been scheduled. The first or second week of July is when the work will be done, according to senior railway authorities. A Divisional Notice Circular (DCN) has been drafted, which states that around twenty trains will be cancelled and twenty more will be diverted per day. Hence, train services between Solapur, Mumbai and Pune will be impacted.

Although the work will be carried out in the yard at Daund Station, it will also affect the trains on the Daund Chord line. The train services on the Daund Chord line will be impacted for a day. As per the information, the number of trains running between Pune and Manmad is 28. Hence, these trains will also be cancelled for a day which will cause inconvenience to passengers.
