June 25, 2024, Karad: A U-turn has been introduced near Malkapur on the route from Karad to Satara, Pune, Mumbai, Patan, and Chiplun. This change follows the construction of a new pedestrian bridge, which had been causing inconvenience. The new bridge’s construction has commenced, leading to the closure and rerouting of the road leading to Satara in front of Sangam Hotel. This change was requested by MNS leader Dada Shingan, aiming to provide more convenience for drivers.

Due to the ongoing flyover construction at Kolhapur Naka, vehicles traveling from Karad to Satara, Patan, and Chiplun had previously been detoured under the Dhebewadi Phata flyover. Although traffic had been flowing smoothly on this detour for several months, it required a longer route.

With the dismantling of the Kolhapur flyover construction, traffic police, highway department officials, and contractors have arranged a U-turn for vehicles heading towards Satara through the newly cleared space after removing the temporary pedestrian bridge at Malkapur.

Assistant Police Inspector Rahul Warate, along with police personnel, highway department officials, and Dada Shingan, inspected the area. After making the necessary arrangements, the road has been reopened for public use.
