On this “International Women’s Day”, we express our displeasure & anger against the Railway Administration, on behalf of all Women Passengers, for not providing a separate coach for females between Pune to Daund and soon the Administration should grant Suburban Status for Daund Junction and resume the EMU Local services with a separate coach for women.”

As per further information shared by Pune Gramin Railway Pravasi Group, women do not have a separate coach while traveling from DEMU/MEMU trains. On the other hand, separate first class and second class coaches are available for female passengers in the Suburban EMU Local to travel between Pune & Lonavala.

The suburban EMU local service between Pune to Daund, which has four coaches for female passengers, including both 1st and 2nd class, handicapped, luggage. Also, Suburban EMU Local, made up of twelve to fifteen coaches, is required on Pune to Daund route.

A strong demand is being made by female passengers to the railway administration that EMU Local should run under the Suburban Status at the earliest.
