The cut-off percentage of some of the reputed colleges in the city during the first round of admissions to Class XI has crossed 92%. Additionally, only students with the highest marks got admission to the art department through English Medium. The cutoff point for admission to the science stream is below that. It is observed that in reputable colleges in the city, the cut-off for Arts through English medium is higher than that of Science. As a result, students who score lower than 90 will probably need to wait for further rounds to get admitted to reputable universities.

On Thursday, junior colleges in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad released their first regular round list for class XI admissions. This revealed that there is competition among students with more than 91% marks. Students who receive scores of 85% to 90% must still wait to be admitted to reputable universities.

The cutoff percentage for Fergusson College’s Arts programme (English medium) this year is 96.6%. Therefore, 95.6% is the threshold for admission to the science stream at this college. The highest cut-off percentage for the science branch in the city is 95.8%, which is found in Laxmanrao Apte Prashala and Junior College. The highest cutoff percentage in the commerce programme is 95.8% at BMCC College. This year’s cutoff for class 11 entrance is higher than it was last year.
